I don’t deny that my blog wasn’t too fast during the last year, which is one of those problems that are simply annoying but not fixed with high priority as things ‘work’ – somehow. But now I decided to improve things.
First step was going through every single component, starting with JavaScript files and Stylesheets. Even changing some image files didn’t help (much).
Now what’s slowing down my site? Regarding my logic, it’s got to be the web server itself which can be solved by using Varnish, a reverse proxy that acts as a web accelerator.
After having things in place here, I would like to know how the site feels for you.

ja, man könnte nun durchaus in versuchung geraten und von erfolg reden, sozusagen “es schnellt” geradezu!
