I admit that I am not a fan of Microsoft at all – especially after struggling with Windows Vista. Honestly, I was quite close to threw out all of their software moving to Linux. But then I got a Beta of Windows 7 which was not that bad – In fact, it was better than Vista already.
But nevertheless you will not get around multiple operating systems if you want to do your IT stuff effectively. So I got out to my IT dealer and got me a new Windows 7 to be able to run Windows Software on my systems.
As a sidenote the release date came just in time as my Vista installation just died. So I had a reason to do a clean install. The installation process went just as expected and slow – without any bigger surprise. The clean desktop wasn’t something new to me, but regarding hardware compatibility it was amazing to see how much stuff was already known by default without much jazz.
Although I really dislike to admit it, I have to say: Well done, Microsoft.
