Well – The topic might sound like a spam entry, but it is not. I am talking about a trailer, attached to my scooter. As I am doing my road trip it was necessary to get me more loading space. So I got me a one wheel trailer from Blech Heinz. And that’s the way it looks:
To be sure that everything works, I went out on a tour, documented with Google Maps.
Heinz does not only have sense for details. He really did great work:
No lurching, no swerving, no problems while driving. As your luggage was transfered from bags to the trailer, the centroid gets lowered, which has a positive effect on handling. The trailer is connected to the bike via gimbal, enabling it to follow in every curve.

Pretty damn impressive, I guess you just need to make sure you pack the box evenly left-right

Hello Jake,
there is no way around welding to get things done. Bungee cords are the worst idea as I would consider them as being dangerous. If you want me to send you some detailed photos, just ask.

I wouldn’t rely on low quality hacks on such a road trip. A broken hitch is hell on earth at 55mph!
You might want to check out the trip I took with the trailer to test it.

Very nice – interestingly enough, I just bought a scooter and am planning on doing a road trip on mine as well. However, I haven’t a clue, really, about anything relating to it yet. A trailer would be nice, but I haven’t the slightest how I’d hook it up to my scooter, other than bungee cords!
Jake Stichler says:
Right, of course they’re dangerous – especially to pull a trailer, and especially at my awesome max speed of 55mph. Welding… hmm… honestly, if there were some sort of way to jerry-rig a trailer in the first place, I could possibly find somewhere convenient to bolt it on. Having a trailer and being able to afford a trailer would help, too, of course.
