I know, I am not always kind and nice to my PC and I love to exaggerate. That’s why I have moved portages’ playground to tmpfs.

So far so good, we’re compiling. Small packages may like it, but I got other packages like Firefox or OpenOffice and portage will complain because of memory. Remember kids: tmpfs got a limited size.

Regarding the speed gain on compile, I guess it’s not worth the problems. To be honest, I didn’t even ‘feel’ it – even merging bigger packages, only genlop shows a difference of some seconds. So I dumped that idea.
