Nachdem Paul Butler auf seiner Homepage das Ende von JSSpamBlock angekündigt hat, habe ich mir noch nicht wirklich Sorgen gemacht, da das Plugin bislang funktionierte und seinen Dienst tat. Es gibt ja genug Beispiele von alten Plugins, die noch immer laufen.
Aber wie es das Schicksal so will, wurde eben genau an den Funktionen, die JSSpamBlock braucht herumgefeilt, wodurch das Plugin Fehler wirft bzw beim Kommentieren durch den Admin spinnt und Paul hat keine Lust mehr das Ding weiterzuentwickeln.
Da der Spam immer mehr wird und sich das Plugin eigentlich als gutes Hausmittel zur Entlastung von Akismet bewährt hat, stehe ich nun vor der Wahl, JSSpamBlock entweder zu reparieren oder neu zu schreiben oder die Betreuung zu übernehmen.

Hey Paul, I guess I’m the one who will maintain it as long as I am using it, as I’ve announced in this post. So I’ll try to keep it compatible with the WP-SVN branch mailing you the changes.
