Is eBay cutting the ground under their feet?

Since my server move is now completed, I even had some time to sort out my hardware and got a some components which are not needed anymore although in a good shape. So why not selling them on eBay? Well – this is an article found on heise.de:

The quote says that eBay germany doesn’t permit shipping costs on 26 product categories for making prices more attractive to people. This makes me think as it soon might be cheaper throwing such parts away instead of selling them on eBay…
