Coffee
It was time to buy a new coffee machine. But as I have reduced the number of cups I am drinking, there is no need for freshly ground coffee beans.
Another rather tasty option are those machines using coffee pads or -capsules – but there are not many machines offering hot water for brewing tea.
Since I got the machine, it’s heavily in use – because even a fine Topfenstollen is boring and dry without some coffee.

Addicted to caffeine

I came to the conclusion, watching myself in the morning: Without my mug of coffee I can’t even stand the starting day… and not to forget those people serving decaffeinated coffee – Hey! Saving Money at work

Money – one of those topics, where you just have to admit that you don’t have enough of it. It is a fact that you need to save it. A simple calculation and an example should show you, how you can do it in your coffee break.
Regarding myself, I need about 4 Cups of coffee a day. The average coffee machine takes 50 cent a cup, which would make 2 EUR a day. Having a look at a normal week at work, I would need 10 EUR (we work five days a week).
A box of instant coffee and sugar is avaliable at your next store for 5 EUR. That box contains enough coffee for about 50 cups. The same ammount of coffee at our machine would be avaliable for 25 EUR. That way I am saving 20 EUR a week…

Der Tag danach

Es ist immer das Gleiche mit uns Geeks. Kaum sind wir einmal dran, eine Nacht durchzuhacken kann man uns am nächsten Tag nicht mehr brauchen. Das Gute daran ist zumindest, dass mein Mailserver nun läuft.
Doch wie überlebt man soche Tage am Besten? – Ich weiss es nicht. Aber Kaffee und Schwarztee bieten einem eine Chance es weitgehend unbeschadet zu überstehen…

Na gut…

Ein neuer Tag brach an, welchen ich mit der Überwindung von physikalischer Trägheit und einem Reibungsproblem begann. Ja, ich bin ein Morgenmuffel, ertappt. Nachdem ich am Arbeitsplatz aufgeschlagen bin und der Morgenkaffee seine Wirkung zeigt und die Tagesaufgaben erledigt sind kann der Tag beginnen.
Mal sehen was die Heimfahrt bringt… Regen?

Skandal, Weltuntergang,…

Ich betrete das Hauptgebäude der Firma und checke ein und dann habe ich es bemerkt: DER KAFFEEAUTOMAT IST WEG!!! – Ein Skandal und Anschlag auf die komplette EDV Infrastruktur schlechthin, wie er schlimmer nicht sein könnte. Nicht genug, dass wir durch den Urlaub eines Kollegen auf 2/3 dezimiert wurden – jetzt auch noch das…
Update: Nach 6-stündiger Fahndung wurde das vermisste Stück zwei Räume weiter wieder aufgefunden. Die Lage entspannt sich zunehmend.
