Is WP-Blackcheck effective?
That was the basic question of the research I did during the last days, greping through the logs to find some info to get an impression of the blacklists effect. Now I know, it isn’t in vain. If we’d say we have 10000 requests we would get about:
- 9000 Spam Comments
- 1000 Ham Comments
- 100 Reports

meine beobachtungen im täglichen strassenverkehr kann ich mittlerweilen in einer beinahe fundierten these formulieren. und wenn dann sich noch jemand finden läßt, der meine these bestätigt, vielleicht seinerseits mit untersuchungen und beobachtungen belegt, wenn’s nicht zu viel verlangt ist, dann könnte ich aus meiner these eine echte theorie machen!

alle jahre wieder, wie weihnachten oder die winterdeppression… oder modeerscheinungsrevival… oder gelebte gedankenlosigkeit… oder…
es könnte stundenlang weiter gesponnen werden, in welche kategorie man das einordnen will, aber im endeffekt kommt immer das selbe ergebnis: idiotie, hirn- und gedankenlosigkeit, geringschätzung des lebens und unmündige “erwachsene”…

Doing iSCSI targets on ZFS

As ZFS did quite well here – even after messing around with disks, I decided to give it another try. This time I am out to use its features on other systems. But to do so, I need to share it. As I am running virtual machines, it would be nice to have iSCSI shares to (ab)use. So let’s do it by starting the service:
# svcadm enable iscsitgt

Disk failure and ZFS

ZFS is a beautiful filesystem – even in case of hardware failures, as it was build to deal with them. Allow me to demonstrate a defective disk on a Raid-Z1 pool. As long as only one disk breaks down, it is still functional – even while rebuilding.
To do the recovery, we need to locate the bad disk, which happens by typing ‘zpool status -x’:
