Let’s get active

November 28th, 2009 by Stargazer

Today is a wonderful day, the Linux Day in Dornbirn – the place to gather my CAcert points to become an active assurer for the Web of Trust.

As it was possible to take the assurer test on site – god bless the inventor of wireless lan – I could start to assure people immediately and gain the first ‘Administrative Points’ which enables me to distribute 15 points at once by now.

Update: At the end of the day I could already grant 25 points.

But regarding the financial crisis, my budget is cut down so I cannot afford an eagle to go on a hunting trip. But I am always a creative mind. Birds are birds, isn’t that the case?

Virtual machines and their clocks can be quite nasty – at least if I am working with them. Maybe it is because it is impossible to kick against virtual machines? Are they that nasty because they know they are safe?

November 16th, 2009 by Grazer

Trash or No-Trash, that’s the question

November 9th, 2009 by Stargazer

Recently I came across a blog posting of Dominik who blogs at banym.de. In his article he mentioned that he keeps the installation CDs of all the old Linux distributions to make sure he can generate the old filesystem versions. As an old sysadmin, I disagree a little with that, because even recent filesystem tools have compatibility options implemented.
